ABUJA/LAGOS
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has officially announced the availability of new contactless airport cards for access at major airports.
Under the banner of #OperationGoCashless, FAAN has deployed the new Contactless Airport Cards at access gates, starting with the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja and the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMA) in Lagos.

The initiative is expected to provide airport users with a faster, more seamless, and secure method of payment at various revenue points, including access gates, car parks, and VIP lounges. It’s feature, “Simply Tap, Pay n Move,” enables to navigate payment challenges, significantly reducing the delays associated with cash transactions and aligning Nigerian airports with global digital payment trends.
FAAN encourages all airport users to acquire and register their new cards immediately. Registration can be done by scanning a QR code or by visiting the dedicated portal at gocashless.faan.gov.ng, where users can activate and fund their cards.
This initiative aims at phasing out cash collections and ensuring greater revenue assurance and operational efficiency across its facilities nationwide. The policy is expected to be expanded to other airports in phases following the initial launch in Lagos and Abuja.
